Syn-ake is an active skin care ingredient based on a protein synthesised to mimic the structure and effects of wagerlin1, a peptide found in the venom of the Temple Viper snake. This toxin, in its pure form, blocks neuromuscular transmission. Syn-ake is gentler but it works in the same way – it blocks the signals from nerves to muscles deep within the skin to prevent them contracting to cause the furrows that we experience as wrinkles.
