The BiteAway is a relatively new product in the UK used extensively in Europe to positive reviews. The German Lifeguard Association (DLRG) are one organisation who use the BiteAway due to its effectiveness in the treatment of insect bites and stings. It is ideal for people who spend lots of time outdoors in the warmer months.
Usage
The Bite Away is a patented medicinal device which was developed for the external treatment of insect bites and stings as gnats, mosquitos, wasps, hornets and horseflies. It is offered in two different housing variants as a stick or in a compact design. It can be used straight away and at any time due to its small and handy shape.
When applied immediately after a sting, the bite away prevents or minimizes the itching so that it becomes insignificant and prevents a subequent swelling. When applied later, even after hours, the itching will be minimized immediately, as well or will disappear. The swelling will go down more quickly.
Directions
Place the bite away’s heating surface exactly on the sting. During treatment time keep it slightly pressed on it. Press one of the two starting keys. The right key is for dults, treatment time is approx. 5 seconds and a temperature of 49°C to 53°C is reached. The left key is for children or adults with sensitive skin, the treatment time is approx, 3 seconds and a temperature of 49°C to 53°C is reached. At the beginning of the heating phase and after termination of the constant temperature phase there will be an acoustic signal (of about 0.5 seconds). A green luminous diode shows the range of the constant temperature. After distinguishing of the LED remove the bite away from the sting.
Do not apply the bite away on mucous membranes, open wounds and eyes.
