The mangosteen is an ancient fruit native to South East Asia and has been carefully plucked from the trees of the ancient woodlands for centuries. It’s about the size and colour of a juicy plum but appearances can be deceptive as the mangosteen has a hardened skin, inside of which is an exotic fruit tasting like a sweet lychee, all protected by a bright, pink pericarp (the skin and the rind). Growing stronger with nature’s evolution, the mangosteen has incredibly dense compounds of antioxidants (known as xanthones) which we know today as being hugely beneficial to our bodies. But before the inhabitants of South East Asia had such luxury knowledge, they adored not only the taste of the fruit, but continued to feel revitalised by its natural remedial power. Your first shot of One Healthy Habit will be like a mind-blowing mouthful of 100% nature, with a sensuous tropical tang; you’ll know from the fresh, revitalising taste that it’s full of the good stuff. A fresh mangosteen fruit tastes somewhat like a lychee and as One Healthy Habit includes the pericarp too (which is a little on the bitter side on its own), a combination of added passion fruit, grapes and jambolan berries mean a taste like no other. Scrumptious. What are antioxidants? Antioxidants are substances that protect cells from the damage caused by unstable molecules known as “free radicals”. Antioxidants interact with and stabilize free radicals and help prevent some of the damage free radicals otherwise might cause. Examples of antioxidants include beta-carotene, lycopene, vitamins C, E, and A as well as xanthones such as alpha-mangostin (the main xanthone present in the mangosteen rind). Why do we need antioxidants? Have you seen this product cheaper?
We frequently check our prices however if you find this cheaper we would like to know!
