BlueBerry Eyebright

The highly concentrated Blueberry Eyebright tablets contain high levels of bio-activeanthocyanins and natural lutein which may help maintain healthy macula of the eye. This combined with eyebright and grape seed antioxidants helps defend against damaging free radicals.

10 mg of Lutein is taken per daily dose. Lutein is a natural pigment found in the macula of the eye. The average western diet is somewhat deficient in containing between 1 and 3 mg of Lutein a day. The product contains Eyebright extract 5:1 which is equal to 1000mg dry herb. Eyebright is a small genus of plant species grown in the alpine regions of Europe and the United States. 

Eyebright is made up of vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin B complex, iron, silicon, iodine, copper and zinc. It is also rich in irioids, glycosides, flavanoids and tannins.

It is primarily used to treat eye irritation and inflammation, especially for sore eyes which may have a discharge. It is the flavonoids in eyebright which can act as an anti-flammatory agent to relieve inflamed mucous membranes of the eyes and sinuses. It does this my supporting the liver and other organs to cleanse the blood supply.

It can also ease redness and swelling that may come from allergic reaction, conjunctivitis and blepharitis. 

Benefits of Marigold 

Marigold (Calendula officinalis) has been used to eye infections such as conjunctivitis and other eye inflammations as it helps to reduce the swelling in the eye. It has high levels of antioxidants that are though to protect the body cells from damage caused by a chemical process called oxidation.

Other benefits are thought to be to treat eczema, gastritis, minor burns and sprains. 

Benefits of Grape Seed Extract

A rich source of plant flavonoids known as oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPCs). OPCs are potent antioxidants and are found to be 20 times stronger than vitamin C and 50 times stronger than vitamin E. 

It is thought that it can improve blood flow in the eye's tiny vessels and wards off free-radical damage that causes AMD. A study has found that it will ease eyestrain and enhance perception of contrast after just 60 days. Important for those who are at a computer all day long.
