The most common symptoms are a change in bowel habit and rectal bleeding. There may be no obvious symptoms in the early stages.

Personal Screening Bowel Disorder Screening Test is an easy to use visual test to detect the presence of blood in stools (faeces) - a helpful indicator in the potential early detection of bowel disease.

Directions

To achieve the most accurate and meaningful results, tests should be carried out on a sample of your stool (faeces) passed directly into the toilet pan.

Conditions which may result in blood entering the bowel can be intermittent (occasional), therefore the test should be repeated over four days. You will need a timing device that indicates "seconds" to ensure the test strip is visually assessed accurately.
