Soy protein fibres are at the moment the only plant fibres produced from recyclable material. Not only are the fibres manufactured from the remains after soy oil and tofu production, the remnants in turn after creating the soy blankets can be used as animals feeds or fertilizer. Soy fibre production can be equated to the recycling of waste paper. From the remnants a new superior quality product is created – through and through an environmentally sustainable production process that comes full circle.

Besides the already mentioned aspects soy fibres are soft and lustrous with excellent ‘wearability’. The fibres contain amino acids which are healthy and nourishing to the human skin. The fibres are soft and pleasant to the touch. Soy Blankets are self-disinfectant and never absorb body odours. They are resistant to both moths and fungus. However, the blanket can be washed normally or dry cleaned if so desired.

Properties of the material compare favourably to conventional fabrics and rate highly with regard to moisture absorption, ventilation and warmth retention.

Long wave infrared radiation is emitted by the soy fibres which can penetrate deep into the tissue of the body creating a general sense of wellbeing and relaxation. Long infrared waves ensure for a natural balance in body temperature so that even high temperatures will not make you break out in sweat. Even in winter only a relatively thin blanket will suffice to keep warm.
