The Saltpipe's history can be traced back to 1843 when Polish physician Dr Bochkowsky noticed salt miners did not suffer from breathing issues or respiratory diseases. He wrote a book where he stated that respiratory diseases could be cured or treated naturally. This practice called 'Speleotherapy' was used as the primary inspiration for the Cisca Saltpipe.
In 2002, two scientists from Budapest thought of a revolutionary way this treatment could be brought to the masses in portable and easy to use. The Saltpipe (Sópipa as released in Hungary) was an instant success following medical trials and a Class IIa medical rating that proved its effectiveness as a treatment for breathing issues.
How To Use
Using the Saltpipe is super simple. Place the ceramic pipe in your mouth and inhale as normal, exhaling through your nose. Don't worry if it tastes a little salty the first time you use it. This will fade after a few uses. After using the salt pipe regularly for about a week you will begin to notice that breathing becomes easier and deeper and any coughing caused by respiratory problems should lessen.
The Cisca Saltpipe can also be used to cleanse deep into the nasal cavity, helping those who suffer with rhinitis or sinusitis. Simply place the pipe close to one nostril, inhale and then swap to the other side.
Breathing has to be done with normal intensity. Forced breathing is unnecessary and should be avoided. It is recommended to use the device for 15-25 minutes daily, but the duration of the treatment can be raised up to 1-2 hours per day. In order to achieve better results, the device should be used continuously and not at odd times. However it is not necessary that we have to use the saltpipe all in one go especially in our present busy life style. We can make an allotment of time to use the saltpipe. For example, 5 minutes in the morning, 5 minutes during the break and so on. You can use the saltpipe in some activity such as watching TV, listening to the radio or even using the internet.
Because of its unique ceramic build and design, the Cisca Saltpipe lasts 5 years and doesn't need refilling.
The salt inside the Cisca Saltpipe is pure Halite mineral Salt crystal formed in middle miocene. This kind of salt crystals has been subjected to enormous pressure over millions of years. The pressure is responsible for creating the salt crystals. The higher the amount of pressure the more superior or excellent the state of order within the crystalline structure.
